Description
The Production Engineer is responsible for supporting day:to:day operations in the facility. Production Engineer plays a key role in ensuring that quality products are manufactured safely, in an environmentally sound manner, efficiently and on time.
Responsibilities:
: Monitoring and analysis of plant processes, equipment operation and QC data to identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and de:bottlenecking.
: Troubleshooting of processes to improve quality, performance, and reliability.
: Utilization of Lean/Six Sigma methods and tools to drive continuous operational improvements.
: Development, modification and implementation of operating procedures.
: Contractor oversight as required.
: Working closely with and providing technical support to the Shift Supervisors and operators in the resolution of plant problems.
: Supporting and meeting Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
: Coordination and management of new product trials and associated processes.
: Execution of continuous improvement projects
Qualifications : BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
: BS Degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
: Minimum of three (3) years experience in an engineering role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
: Demonstrated teamwork skills required.
: Strong Interpersonal and communications skills.
: Sound technical knowledge, analytical abilities, and computer skills.
: Lean and Six Sigma experience is a plus.
: Demonstrated problem solving skills, change management, root cause analysis and troubleshooting required.
: Strong project management skills preferred.
: Candidates already local to the Jackson, MS area strongly preferred.
